Greek club Olympiacos FC have revealed their new home soccer jersey that they will wear throughout their pursuit of the 2010/11 Greek Super League title.
The team had a relatively disappointing 09/10 domestic campaign which saw them finish 2nd, six points behind rivals Panathinaikos. The real setback arrived in the 2nd-5th place play offs for the European positions that saw Olympiakos finish bottom behind PAOK, Aris and AEK Athens. This means that they will enter the Europa League at the 2nd qualifying round phase. They experienced some good fortune in the 09/10 Champions League which saw them qualifying from the group stage but suffer defeat to Bordeaux in the last 16.
The new Olympiacos 2010/11 home soccer jersey contains numerous red and white vertical stripes running down the body. The stripes are intercepted in the centre of the chest with a large white rectangle presumably produced for the sponsor logo when added to the front. Manufacturers Puma place their red “cat” logo in the top right of the jersey whilst the club badge is situated opposite in the top left. The sleeves are red with a thin white pinstripe running around the underarm.
